Joint HIE Connection to CommonWell Goes Live

Arlington, VA – Oct. 23, 2020 – On Saturday October 9th, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, and U.S. Coast Guard expanded their joint Health Information Exchange (HIE) network by connecting to the CommonWell Health Alliance.  

 The Joint HIE’s CommonWell connection enables healthcare providers in each department and the Coast Guard to access electronic health data held at an additional 15,000 hospitals and clinics beyond the 46,000 community partners already connected to the Joint HIE.

As a premier partner on the Cerner team tasked with modernizing the VA’s electronic health record, MedicaSoft provides management and strategic leadership to the groups responsible for delivering high-impact HIE capabilities like the CommonWell connection.

Joint DOD and VA Health Information Exchange (HIE) Goes Live

Arlington, VA – Apr. 20, 2020 – On Saturday, April 18th, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) launched the joint DOD / VA Health Information Exchange. The Joint HIE enables healthcare providers in each department to access electronic health record data held at participating community partners and health systems, and offers participating community providers a single point of entry through which to request and access electronic health records held by DOD and VA.

As a premier partner on the Cerner team responsible for modernizing the VA’s electronic health record, MedicaSoft is an integral member of the task team responsible for delivering the joint HIE capability on schedule.

This certification designates that HealthCenter provides the functionality that enables eligible providers and hospitals to meet Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use requirements, qualifying these organizations to receive payments under the ongoing EHR adoption program.
