Washington, D.C., January 6, 2014 – MedicaSoft, LLC today announced it has appointed Brandt Welker as Chief Technology Officer. Welker, an expert in enterprise software solutions, joins MedicaSoft after 7 years with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), where he served as Strategic Innovation Portfolio Manager and previously as Chief Architect for the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) Electronic Health Record system.
MedicaSoft partners with public and private healthcare providers to deploy advanced health information technology solutions - clinical systems, administrative applications, and electronic medical records - to improve the quality and efficiency of care delivery.

He guided the Strategic Innovation Portfolio, delivering a range of solutions including mobile health, chronic disease management, patient safety, and telehealth applications. Additionally, he made foundational contributions to the architecture of VA systems for healthcare and benefits.
